The Eleventh Draft
I write and produce television. Which means I spend my time discussing whether a character would do something — then I go home and continue the conversation alone.
My goal with this Substack is to offer perspective. An opportunity to think laterally. Whether that’s achieved is purely subjective. If not, perhaps the ride, at lease, was fun.
That perspective is primarily delivered with essays on entertainment, culture, and politics run through classic and modern philosophy.
You’ll also find the occasional story — some short, others long and published in chapters. Claude told me the original stories I’ve written are “mostly about people making the wrong choices,” which is “close to the definition of being human.”
Hmm.
Two pieces a month. All of it free for now. You can pay if you want, and I’ll be grateful, but you’ll never hit a wall (on new posts) in the middle of a sentence. I tried to set the pay-sub rate at $1/month; I was told $5/month is the minimum.
On the title of this site: nothing is ever finished. We each put our work out into the world when the world commands. Often after eleven drafts or so.
